“Gut Reaction: Bistro Bohem’s Beef Goulash Pretty Much Czechs Out”
A brief excerpt: “This seems pretty legit,” my brother, Adam, says. We’re sitting at a two-top inside the cozy Bistro Bohem, the new Czech-themed boîte in Shaw, hungrily dipping into a big bowl of beef goulash with bits of bread dumplings.”
Thank you all for coming out last night and trying our food as well as specialty cocktails! It was a total blast plus tons of people from the area came out and got to see a new piece of the neighborhood
Now, we are not sure what was the most popular dish but it seems like the Pierogi disappeared super-fast! Slow roasted pork with red cabbage was a huge hit, and we ultimately ran out of the chicken schnitzel.
The Bohemian Margarita seemed to be the drink of the night, but we were amazed at how popular our Becherovka Old Fashioned turned out to be as well. We sure served a lot of Absinthe Gin Fizz. A LOT. Man who knew Absinthe was so popular? Oh wait. We did.
Overall, Czechvar seemed to be our most popular draft…Though last night’s crowd went through 2 Chimay kegs!
Well done, Shaw! We asked you guys to come by and welcome us to the neighborhood, and you all really outdid yourselves! You can tell by how glowing we are in the above photo.

Tonight we are planning on having a private preview party tonight from 7 -10 pm at the bistro!
We will be showcasing some of our menu items (chicken schnitzel, pierogis, goulash, pierogi etc). We also plan on offering our specialty drinks (Bohemian Margarita, Absinthe Gin Fizz, Becherovka Old Fashioned, Fernet Martini ). We guarantee you’ve never had these drink combinations before ;)
We will also offer our draft beer – Czechvar, Chimay, Six Point – Bengali Tiger.

THANK YOU to everyone who has been patiently awaiting our arrival. All those months of looking at our closed doors and wondering “What the heck is going on in there?!?” has paid off. Mid-march, we will finally be open!
That’s right folks- we have the licenses up, the kitchen is cooking, and the Meinl coffee is ready to be served. That means that if you want a small private event, we’re open for booking. Plus, we’ll be open to the general public March 15th!
Last night we had our private event, and it was a total blast. Just seeing the whole restaurant filled with people in it warmed our hearts and made us excited to see new faces! So, what are you waiting for? Stop by later on this month! In the mean time, our social medias are standing by.
